Curated for service businesses

We collected some key resources so you can focus on having the next step in front of you.

These resources are to help you see what is already in place, what may be missing, and what deserves regular attention. Use the walkthroughs to get started yourself. If you want help setting things up correctly or interpreting what you find, we can work through it with you.

01Local visibility

Claim and complete your Google Business Profile.

This is often the first information a nearby customer sees when they search for your business or service.

  • Use a Google Account the business controls.
  • Confirm that the business is eligible for a profile.
  • Have the correct business name, phone number, website, hours, categories, and service area ready.
  1. 01Search Google and Google Maps for the business name and city.
  2. 02If a profile exists, request access or claim it. If it does not exist, create one.
  3. 03Complete Google’s available verification process.
  4. 04Review the business name, primary category, phone number, website, hours, service area, services, and photos.
  5. 05Add another trusted owner or manager where appropriate so the profile is not dependent on one person.

You can access the verified profile from a business-controlled Google Account and its core information is accurate on Google Search and Maps.

Review it monthly and whenever your hours, services, phone number, website, or service area change.

A simple operating rhythm

Set it up once. Check it regularly.
